This watch is a prime example of what country-individualized productions stands for. The dial features a very individual and uncommon honeycomb structure. Back then, the big logo clasp jubilee bracelet was something I had never seen before. I bought this watch from a collector in India. It got me digging deeper into the rabbit hole to find out more about these special bracelets.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eI was able to meet the owner of the company that produced these bracelets in India for the Indian market under license from Rolex. While he showed me his still operating factory and even the archived paperwork of the correspondence between him and Rolex, I was wearing this watch with a bright smile on my face. A great example of what defines me as a collector.\"\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eHere's ours:\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eOne of the most interesting elements of these 1950s Tudors, aside from the classic Oyster case, is the huge range of dials that were used. And the most sought after are the texture dials, such as the one fitted to this cool reference 7909. \u003cbr\u003eFeaturing applied indexes and text that have both turned a warm copper colour, this is a very cool and rare waffle dial. The case remains in great condition all round with good thick lugs – we would say unpolished…if we used such a term! Even the original brevet ‘+’ crown is still there. The watch has an automatic movement, as signified by the word ‘PRINCE’ on the dial, which is Tudor’s equivalent of Rolex’s ‘PERPETUAL’, which has been fully serviced by our watchmaker. \u003cbr\u003eThis watch has a very special Jubilee bracelet attached, that was made in India and is 100% correct and official Rolex. Instead of folded links, the links are actually open in structure and the bracelet has fixed endlinks that are extra-long – they almost give the same effect as hooded lugs on early Rolex Bubbleback watches. Inside, the dial is double signed Cartier (see, we told you it was cool) and the white dial features applied Arabic Breguet numerals and blued steel hands. \u003cbr\u003eTo us, this piece reminds us of a much more genteel pace of life – long before our crazy digital world – when glamor and quality were the order of the day. Movado, founded in 1881, has become a very popular brand with collectors over the past few years. Having handled and enjoyed this watch, we can see why! The watch houses a two-tone silver dial with cool outer blue and inner snail scales. The dial features two sub dials and we particularly love the serpent chrono hand on the minutes register – so cool and a subtle touch. The 33mm case features olive shaped pushers and a large winding crown. The watch is fitted with a period correct Oyster-style straight endlink steel bracelet. A unique piece, custom made by maybe the most important and influential jeweller on Bond Street in London. One can only imagine how extraordinary it must have been to request such a custom piece back in the 1940s – not only because of the domino base and its materials, but also because of the size of 43 mm. I bought this piece several years ago in an auction, a truly unique piece which made me hunt for similar watches in the years after.\"\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003ci data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHere's ours:\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/i\u003eThis is an exceptionally rare and highly unusual watch by one of the world’s most renowned jewelers, Asprey. Founded in the 18\u003csup\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e century in England, Asprey was awarded its first Royal Warrant in 1862 for Queen Victoria. Asprey was also an esteemed Rolex stocking that provided many of the watches to the Sultan of Oman ! This watch is a\u003cspan\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003e43x21mm watch in steel \/ chrome that has a ebony front case. The small watch face features a black dial with the Asprey name in silver. The most interesting element is on the reverse of the watch. Turn it over and you are greeted by an actua livory domino stone – ‘Double Five’! This stone is in lieu of a caseback and is affixed with two small screws which gives access to the manual wind movement that has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
